British Equestrian teams had a remarkable 2021. Against a challenging backdrop of Covid, Brexit and the EHV outbreak in Europe, our riders and drivers brought home 20 Olympic, Paralympic and championship medals. But throughout the sports, there is a continued commitment to constantly evolve and further strengthen in pursuit of sustaining that medal success in Paris, Los Angeles and beyond.

We create an environment where talented athletes and horses can thrive and perform to the highest levels but that requires a support network of equally talented people.
In an exciting new development, British Equestrian, in collaboration and partnership with British Showjumping, is searching for a new support team member to further drive success, a Technical Showjumping Expert to the Senior Teams. The role will work closely with Performance Manager Di Lampard to provide technical knowledge, skills and expertise as well as input on strategy and selection. The Technical Expert (TE) will also help to ensure the criteria and objectives of the relevant Selection Policy are applied and fulfilled.

We have an exciting group of young athletes coming through the ranks, ably lead by Harry Charles who currently tops the world U25 rankings, as well as some of the leading senior names in the sport who are finding form. It’s a huge opportunity for someone who wants to work with a group that values winning and winning well, but also believes in the growth and development of our people.”
It’s anticipated the TE role will take approximately three renumerated days per month, largely over virtual meetings but attendance at key competitions and/or team training may be required and agreed expenses will be covered.
British Showjumping’s Chief Executive Ian Graham added; “We hope this role will bring a new dimension to the way we approach preparation for major shows and championships. In Di Lampard we have a strong, well respected leader and we’re looking for a high-calibre individual who can bring in a technical skillset and knowledge which will act to ‘check and challenge’ and make sure the selection process is robust, leaving nothing left to chance. We’re searching globally in the hope of finding an individual with not just the level of knowledge and expertise required to enhance performance and inspire, but who also shares our vision and is able to embrace the values we live by,”
It’s hoped to have someone in place as the 2022 season ramps up with a contract to cover the Paris Olympiad, with a review after the 2024 Games.
