The first youngster on the block at the Schockemöhle/Helgstrand International Online Foal Auction was the subject of a bidding duel, which was only decided when the final bid reached a record-breaking 79,500 euros in favour of the Austrian 1980 Olympic dressage champion Elisabeth ‘Sissy’ Max-Theurer.
The extravagant-moving filly Brandtbjergs Fiji, descended from the reigning Bundeschampion and two-time Oldenburg State Champion Fynch Hatton, is from his second crop and is modern, elegant and shows incredible paces. Her maternal line is also worth looking at, as the grand-dam Zelina is a half-sister of the very popular sire Don Romantic (by Don Schufro) in Denmark. She produced the dressage horse Brandtbjerg’s Olivia (by Don Olymbrio L).
The second dressage highlight was the Totilas daughter Tonight’s Symphony, who was sold for 30,000 euros to customers in Germany. With a hammer price of 29,000 euros, Brix Fridaye, a filly by Franklin out of a Revolution dam, whose dam line already produced numerous internationally successful dressage horses, was only slightly “cheaper”.
The filly She’s Perfect will grow up in Sweden. The daughter of the Oldenburg Reserve Champion Stallion and Danish Premium Stallion So Perfect went under the virtual hammer for 22,500 euros.
The most expensive jumping foal cost 18,500 euros: Coonando (by Chacoon Blue) shares the dam line with the jumping star Diavoltan OLD.
The total turnover for the 21-strong collection of outstanding young talent was 382,000 euros. The average price of the eleven dressage foals was 23,227 euros, that of the ten jumping foals 12,650 euros.
Preparations are already underway for the next Schockemöhle/Helgstrand International Online Foal Auction, which will be held in August of this year.
