On Thursday, September 20th The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair will create a unique piece of artwork, painted solely by farm animals. With paint on their hooves and feet, a variety of animals including a horse, cow, pigs, sheep, and chickens will stride across a giant 16’X12’ canvas, creating a work inspired by abstract expressionism.
A portion of the canvas will then be photographed and made into the official Royal poster. Each year, The Royal commissions a noted Canadian artist to create a Royal-inspired poster that reflects the attributes of the Fair. To celebrate its 90th anniversary, The Royal selected the most noteworthy stars of The Royal – the animals – to ‘create’ this year’s poster. The poster, as well as portions of the original canvas, will be available for purchase at The Royal.
The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is the world’s largest combined indoor agricultural and equestrian show. This year, The 90th Royal Agricultural Winter Fair runs November 2-11, 2012 at Exhibition Place in Toronto. Visit www.royalfair.org for more information
