Ottawa, Ontario— It is with regret that Equine Canada announces the departure of their Manager of Coaching, Sarah Acton Kellow.

Acton Kellow will be relocating to Calgary to advance her career in corporate finance with a multinational firm. She will be returning to a career that she was involved in prior to joining the Equine Canada team.

During Acton Kellow’s time with Equine Canada, she was able to improve and advance many aspects of Equine Canada’s coaching department. In collaboration with the volunteer coaching committees, she has launched a new English Rider Level program, designed and implemented a new Instructor certification program in multiple disciplines, and supported the architecture of the Equestrian Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) framework.

Working closely with the Coaching Committees and the Coaching Association of Canada, Acton Kellow has facilitated the development the NCCP Equestrian Theory course for coach education. This course has replaced the generic NCCP Multi-Sport Module – Part A theory course for equestrian coaches in the certification and training programs.

Equine Canada has set up a temporary email address, until Sarah’s position is filled, for anyone with questions on coaching, LTAD, development of new coaching programs and the management of the current ones, or any other coaching matter during the transition—coaching@equinecanada.ca. Any questions sent to this email will be directed to the proper party and answered promptly.

From everyone at Equine Canada, we want to wish Sarah success in her new endeavours. She will be dearly missed.
