Dressage at Devon came to a close Sunday, featuring the final freestyle performances of the FEI Young Rider and Intermediate I division performances. Despite a rainy start to the day, competitors kept the energy alive at the historic venue to end the week on a high note with their musical routines, wrapping up with the CDI3* Intermediate I Freestyle, presented by Stubben North America.

Kicking off the morning’s rides, Alice Tarjan and Jane, her own 8-year-old Oldenburg mare, dominated the CDI3* Intermediate B class, presented by Pure Insurance, with a new personal best of 71.459%. Donna Gatchel and Reflection, a 9-year-old mare owned by Margaret Groom, finished with the red ribbon on a score of 64.838%, while Canada’s Rebecca Cowden and Sinatra’s Rose RS, her own 12-year-old mare, took third with 61.108%.

In the FEI Young Riders Freestyle, presented by Der Dau, Olivia Turcott and Lalique, a 15-year-old Oldenburg mare owned by Patricia Piccillo, earned the top spot with a score of 69.18% for their harmonious, choreographed routine. Megan Tursi and So Speciale Edition, a 13-year-old Oldenburg mare owned by Isabelle Thompson, finished with second place and a score of 68.92%, while Grace Culley and Steinway, an 18-year-old Oldenburg gelding owned by Nancy Holowesko, rounded out the top three for the division. In the FEI Intermediate I Freestyle for Amateurs, presented by Cesar Parra, that followed, Emily O’Neill and Funky-Boy, a 12-year-old KWPN gelding owned by Lynn Rzonca, took home the win with a score of 66.47%. Meghan Richards and Kingstown, her own 7-year-old KWPN gelding, took second place with 63.92%.
