Ottawa, ON—The Dressage Canada Selection Committee for the 2009 North American Junior and Young Riders’ Championships has announced a change to the selected athletes who will represent Canada at this event, which will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY, July 21-26, 2009.
Young Rider Jade Deter of Kemptville, ON, and her horse Mastermind will be unable to attend the Championships with Team Ontario. Annie-Pier Venne of L’Assomption, QC, and her horse Step Up, a 12-year-old Westphalian stallion, who were to ride as individuals, will replace Deter and Mastermind, and the team will be renamed Team Canada East.
Lindsay Seidel-Wassenaar of Blufton, AB, and her horse Oslo will still ride as individuals. The Junior Teams (Ontario and Team Canada West) remain unchanged.
