The team at the United States Equestrian Team (USET) Foundation regrets to announce that the Denim & Diamonds in Denmark benefit gala, scheduled for Friday, January 21, 2022, in Wellington, Florida, has been canceled due to the rapidly changing public health concerns around the COVID-19 pandemic.
Though the in-person benefit—which was organized in support the U.S. dressage, jumping, and para dressage teams headed to the 2022 World Championships in Denmark—will not take place, everyone at the USET Foundation is exploring different avenues to celebrate and support the teams.
“The safety and health of our community is our top priority,” stated USET Foundation Executive Director Bonnie Jenkins. “With the uptick in COVID-related cases and people understandably choosing to minimize interactions in larger group settings, we’ve made the decision to cancel Denim & Diamonds in Denmark. Despite the cancelation, we remain committed to supporting our U.S. teams at the 2022 World Championships in both Denmark and Italy and hope to announce other activities that will help us achieve this goal.
“Our U.S. equestrian teams’ resilience over the past two years has been remarkable and though we’ve had to make a change to this benefit, I’m looking forward to another outstanding year for our teams across disciplines,” continued Jenkins. “With the World Championships in 2022 followed by preparations for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, France, we cannot rest on our laurels. The USET Foundation will continue to work diligently to provide the resources necessary for our developing and elite athletes to be successful on the greatest international stages.”
Everyone’s understanding is very much appreciated. If you have previously responded to the RSVP and have any questions, please call the USET Foundation offices Monday-Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET.
