DC Rules Committee Named DC Volunteers of the Month

you're listening to an article from horse sport.com. dc rules committee named dc volunteers of the month. dressage canada (dc) is pleased to name every member of the dc rules committee as dc volunteers of the month for december. the committee is comprised of joanna crilly from ottawa, on, alison gallagher from st. john, nb, linda miller from edmonton ab, shelia skene from victoria, bc, and cherie winslow from st. lazare, qc. nominated by chair of the dc high performance committee, gina smith, the committee is being publically recognized for their ongoing commitment and work in improving the clarity and implementation of the governing rules for the sport of dressage in canada. advertisement scroll to continue with content they have been instrumental in overhauling the entire dc rulebook in recent years, making it more user-friendly and coherent, and also played a key role in mandating helmet use for all riders in national competitions. canada was the first country to implement such a requirement back in 2011, and it was the rules committee who took the lead in pushing for this very important safety issue. in addition to their work in defining the sport’s rules, each member of the committee is also involved in other aspects of developing dressage in canada. crilly is an active level 2 coach and ec senior judge, gallagher is an ec recorded judge, miller is an fei and ec senior steward, skene is an ec senior judge, and winslow is an ec senior steward. for their dedicated work throughout the year, dressage canada is pleased to recognize all of the members of the dressage canada rules committee by awarding them the dc volunteer of the month award for december.
