Dressage Canada is proud to announce that Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium is the recipient of the 2012 Dressage Canada Media Award of Excellence in recognition of the outstanding coverage of dressage at the London 2012 Olympic Games. It is an annual award which recognizes a media partner who has made significant contributions to the sport of dressage in Canada.

The Consortium provided same-day, online coverage of the dressage competition with excellent commentating from Nancy Wetmore and Canadian Olympic dressage judge, Cara Whitham.

“Dressage Canada is thrilled to be able to recognize a Canadian company for their contribution in bringing equestrian sport, and in particular dressage, to viewers during the London Olympics,” said the chair of Dressage Canada, Sarah Bradley.

“We made an effort to raise the bar with our coverage to ensure that Canadians had unprecedented access to the live broadcasts of the Summer Games,” said Mark Silver, Head of Digital, Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium. “Being recognized by Dressage Canada for our coverage is further validation that we reached our goal.”

Chris Collie accepted the award on behalf of the Consortium at Dressage Canada’s Celebration of Dressage held at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair November 8th in Toronto, ON.
