Ottawa, Ontario — Jump Canada is pleased to announce that Canadian National Railway (CN) has been named its 2006 ‘Sponsor of the Year’.

Created in 2005, the ‘Sponsor of the Year’ Award recognizes the significant impact that corporate sponsorship has on Canadian show jumping sport.  From Quebec to British Columbia, CN has been an important sponsor of many important Canadian equestrian competitions and events.

In 2006 alone, CN sponsored the richest annual show jumping event in the world, the $1 million CN International Grand Prix held in September during the prestigious CSIO5* Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ Tournament in Calgary, AB.  In addition, CN was the presenting sponsor of the $125,000 CN Grand Prix at the CSI3* International Bromont in Quebec as well as the $75,000 CN World Cup Grand Prix at the CSI-W Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, ON.

At the inaugural Jump Canada Hall of Fame Gala and Induction Ceremony held November 5 in Toronto, ON, CN generously sponsored the reception.  In supporting the Jump Canada Hall of Fame, CN helped to formally recognize outstanding contributions to hunter/jumper sport.

CN also has a strong presence in the international show jumping community, with CN and CN WorldWide being the presenting sponsors of the inaugural 2006 Global Champions Tour.  It is also the most prominent sponsor of the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida, supporting, among other events, the $75,000 CN Nations’ Cup, which was won in 2006 by the Canadian Show Jumping Team.

For its incredible support of the show jumping industry, Jump Canada is proud to honour CN as the 2006 ‘Sponsor of the Year’.  Canadian Show Jumping Team chef d’equipe Terrance Millar will present the ‘Sponsor of the Year’ Award on behalf of Jump Canada to Mr. Hunter Harrison, CEO of CN, during a special ceremony at the CSI5* CN WorldWide Wellington Finale held from March 14-18 in Wellington, FL.

In its inaugural year, Kubota Canada Ltd. was named the 2005 Jump Canada Sponsor of the Year for its substantial contribution as title sponsor of the Kubota Cup Canadian Show Jumping Series.
