The wild horse round up in the Ghost area of Alberta yielded 33 horses, according to reports. More than a dozen were auctioned off on Saturday February 23rd and the rest are in the care of rescuers.
Danny Daines of the Innisfail Auction Market says that the horses sold, on average, for $500-$800 to farmers and ranchers only. One buyer paid $1,600 for a young stallion.
