WBFSH 2022 General Assembly
After two years of virtual meetings the DSP (South German Sport Horse verband) was finally able to fulfill their ambition to host the WBFSH General Assembly. Held in the historic city of Dresden, the four day gathering, involving meetings, seminars and tours to the Moritzburg and Graditz studs, was both engaging and informative.
The main theme was horse welfare, which was the topic of several presentations and then a workshop that gave participants an opportunity to share information and ideas. Addressing the issue of education and policy will now be part of the WBFSH annual plan. See the workshop conclusions here.
Canada was well represented by four CWHBA members. Attending were; Board members Sarah King and Janine Olson as well as Chris Gould, Communications Director and long time CWHBA representative and Katrina Van Den Bosch, Fall Classic Sale Chair person. It was a great opportunity to meet representatives from studbooks around the world, compare experiences and discuss issues of mutual importance.
President Jan Pederson from Denmark was re-elected for another three year term. His full report can be read on page 72 of this months issue of World Breeding News. and all the presentations are available online here.
