Canada’s Nations’ Cup Team Announced for Spruce Meadows Masters

The Canadian Show Jumping Team, comprised of Mac Cone, Eric Lamaze, Ian Millar and Tiffany Foster, will compete in the $300,000 BMO Nations’ Cup to be held Saturday, September 8, during the CSIO5* Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ Tournament in Calgary, AB.
Cone, 60, of King, ON, has declared both Unanimous, an 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Southern Ways Equestrian LTD and the Unanimous Group, and Amor Van De Rostal, a 12-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding owned by Chadburn Holdings Inc.
Lamaze, 44, of Schomberg, ON, has declared both Derly Chin De Muse, a nine-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare owned by Ashland Farms and Torrey Pines Stable, and Coriana Van Klapscheut, a 10-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare owned by Artisan Farms LLC and Torrey Pines Stable.
Millar, 65, of Perth, ON, will ride Star Power, a 10-year-old Dutch-bred gelding owned by Team Works.
Foster, 27, of Schomberg, ON, has declared Victor, a 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Artisan Farms LLC and Torrey Pines Stable and Whitney, a nine-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare owned by Artisan Farms LLC and Torrey Pines Stable.
The team, composed entirely of Olympic veterans, will be under the experienced guidance of chef d’équipe Terrance Millar. The $300,000 BMO Nations’ Cup at the Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ Tournament in September is one of only two Nations’ Cup tournaments held in North America. Strong performances by these team members throughout the 2012 season has put them in contention for the title that was last won by Canada in 2006.

A Nations’ Cup is the only competition in show jumping where riders, in teams of four, compete as a country. The top three scores from each team are counted toward the final result of the two-round competition.
