Ottawa, Ontario—It was another fantastic weekend for Canada during the CDI 3*–Y/J Zada WEF Dressage Classic, held March 20 to March 23, 2008, in Wellington, FL, USA.

Canadian double Olympian Ashley Holzer, a current resident of New York, NY, started the competition off by winning the Grand Prix class riding Pop Art (Amsterdam x Cabouchon), an 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Holzer and Ian Nicoll. Their score was 73.042%. The last minute switch of the Grand Prix Freestyle from Saturday night to Easter Sunday, because of torrential rains, evidently had no effect on Holzer or Pop Art as they continued to dominate the Grand Prix Freestyle with a 76.800%, the high score of the competition.

“Pop Art never ceases to amaze me. He has shown such consistency throughout the whole season at all types of different venues,” remarked Holzer, who continues to climb the FEI Dressage Riders’ World Ranking List and currently sits in 13th position. “It has been so exciting to see how comfortable and confident he is this year.”
