On September 20, Northlands Park in partnership with the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society (CTHS) will welcome the best Alberta-bred horses that will compete in seven stakes races with purse money totaling $350,000.
“Northlands is proud to support the thoroughbred breeding industry in our province,” said Tim Reid, President & CEO of Northlands. “This is the second largest race day at Northlands Park and we invite guests to come see how the thoroughbred breeding industry is flourishing in Alberta.”
This year marks the 18th Annual Alberta Breeders’ Fall Classic. This free event continues to draw thoroughbreds from across the province and celebrate all things made in Alberta.
“The Alberta Breeders’ Fall Classic is a celebration of our province’s fabulous Alberta thoroughbred racing and a showcase of our wonderful Alberta-bred thoroughbreds, said Jean Kruse, Manager, Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society. “We’re pleased to partner with Northlands to continue bringing this event to Northlands Park.”
In between races, guests can attend the Equine Art Show in the Playbook Lounge, which will feature pieces from talented local artists. In addition, there will be the Alberta Breeders’ Fall Classic Marketplace Vendors located on the tarmac. The weekend culminates with the CTHS Thoroughbred Sale at the Edmonton EXPO Centre where guests will have the opportunity to own their own stakes winning horse. Be part of the Alberta spirit and be a part of the Alberta Breeders’ Fall Classic Weekend.
