The Jump Canada Hall of Fame committee has made the difficult decision to postpone the 2022 edition of the Jump Canada Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Gala, presented by BMO Financial Group.

Originally scheduled for its traditional date of Sunday, November 6, in Toronto, ON, the Jump Canada Hall of Fame committee determined that it would not be prudent to host this year’s event. While Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted in the Province of Ontario, the Jump Canada Hall of Fame Gala is held in conjunction with the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. As a result, numerous special events are being held to mark this significant milestone, many of which involve the Royal Horse Show and the Jump Canada Hall of Fame’s shared audience.

“When the Jump Canada Hall of Fame Gala returns in 2023, we will come back in grand style,” said Mark Samuel, Chair of the Jump Canada Hall of Fame committee. “Covid-19 restrictions have prevented us from hosting our event for the past two years, and unfortunately this year’s event coincides with the 100th anniversary of The Royal, one of our inaugural inductees into the Hall of Fame. Given the importance of this milestone, we want our hunter/jumper community to fully engage in the celebrations, and not to feel torn between which events they attend.

“Our committee is already planning for 2023 however and promise to host a night to remember,” concluded Samuel. “We would like to recognize our great title sponsor from day one, BMO Financial Group, for its support of our decision.”

The Jump Canada Hall of Fame was created in 2006 to recognize outstanding contributions to Canadian hunter/jumper sport. To date, 64 champions have been welcomed into the Hall of Fame, including 21 horses and ponies, 31 humans, six organizations including the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, and six teams.

The Jump Canada Hall of Fame committee is comprised of Mark Samuel (Chairman), Jennifer Anstey, Evie Frisque, Muffie Guthrie, Bobbie Reber, Phil Rozon, Jennifer Ward, and Nancy Wetmore.

The Jump Canada Hall of Fame is a property of the Jumping Committee of Equestrian Canada (EC). The EC Jumping Committee is responsible for the development and monitoring of all aspects of the hunter and jumper industry in Canada, from the grass roots to the international level.
