The Ontario Equestrian Federation (OEF) is now accepting applications for its OEF Youth Bursary program, which helps deserving youth reach their equestrian goals.

Each year the OEF proudly offers a minimum of five $1,000 bursaries to junior members. The program is open to all junior members of the OEF between the ages of 14 and 17 as of Jan. 1 of the bursary year. Riders, drivers and equestrians of all abilities and disciplines are eligible to apply. This program is intended to reach those who have experienced significant personal or financial hardships that make it difficult for them to reach their equestrian goals.

“The OEF Youth Bursary program is designed to help deserving youth expand upon their skills, knowledge and experience,” says Dianne Graham, the executive director of the Ontario Equestrian Federation. “Whether recipients use their bursary for riding lessons, clinics, educational courses related to horses, schooling shows or much-needed equipment, the OEF Youth Bursary program supports their development and helps make their dream possible.”

The OEF Youth Bursary program has been helping young equestrians since it began in 2000. To date, 136 OEF Youth Bursaries have been awarded. Last year, six OEF Youth Bursaries of $1,000 each were awarded. The number of 2016 bursaries that will be awarded will be determined at the end of the year.
