A few weeks ago, I was in Saumur, France visiting some friends, and on the way home I stopped in Paris. I had never been and always wanted to go. Paris was lovely, but it was just a short visit! I just walked through, and saw the Eiffel Tower. Due to a protest that day, there was a big riot against gay marriage. There were over a million people coming through the city and there were riot police everywhere. It was rather intimidating and walking through the city with three dogs and a million people was not ideal. Next time I plan to spend some more time there.
The other weekend was the KNHS Stallion presentation, showcasing the KWPN breed and their success. It was truly an incredible atmosphere, the stands were jammed. It amazed me, something we would never see at home. I saw many impressive horses. A stallion that left an impression on me was Netto by Negro. Anne Van Olst rides him and boy does she have big future ahead with him. I had goose bumps watching them piaffe, passage. Check out the video.
Vitall has been going fantastic. We rode our first practice show last week. It was the first time going down centre line in over a year since his injury. For our first time, I was really pleased. There were just a few little things, but we received a lot of 8’s for our piaffe, passage. He got a little fresh in the changes, made a little mistake in the beginning of the 1 tempis, but overall I was really happy with him and myself. I am planning to ride one more practice competition before entering a national show then after that, in May, I plan to ride some CDIs starting in Saumur in France.
The youngsters are also going fantastic. It is amazing how quick they learn. Each one is improving every week. I really enjoy riding them! They always make me smile.
I am starting to do Young Horse shopping tours. Some of the horses are listed on my website. The tour will be four days long. We will be able to attend some events if they’re on during the tour date or going to visit some stud farms. It is going to be really a fantastic experience and I have some amazing horses to show!
