Dressage day was a blast. All the horses were good in the ring. There’s always something you want to improve upon, that’s the way it is with riding and horses, isn’t it? Woody needs to do a better job on his extensions at both walk and trot, Zephyr didn’t halt square ONCE in his test and Derg Boru worked his heart out, but it was his first two star test and he still needs to polish some of his moves. They all finished well after Dressage, Woody was in 4th!
No live stream from Red Hills (they really need to get that going). It means we get a lot more work done here at home, but not nearly so much fun checking scores on live entries as it is watching it live. Thank goodness for all the amazing people who send me updates, videos and photos. I would particularly like to thank Diane Flowers whose eventing photos on Facebook are becoming legendary.
We are very excited to announce that we are going to be partnering with ‘Shires’. If you remember, we bought Rummy and new blanket and we were thrilled with it. I wrote to the company and let them know how thrilled we were with the blanket and there you go! We feel very fortunate to be partnered with such an internationally renowned company, we are thrilled and cannot wait to show you photos of our Shires equipment. BTW….Anne Marie Duarte, International Groom Extraordinaire says that the braiding needles from Shires are by far the best on the market and she has used nothing else for the last few years.
The food at Red Hills is always a favourite, as soon as the last horses are finished with Anne Marie and Selena scoot off to the tents to see what they can forage.
Here is video of Zephyr’s dressage test.
