Members of the media are invited to join the Ontario Equestrian Federation for Toronto Horse Day, a free family event designed to give people of all ages the opportunity see horses up close, learn about riding and watch exciting performances featuring different horse breeds.

Time: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Horse Palace, Exhibition Place
15 Nova Scotia Ave. Toronto, ON.

Activities include:

  • Performances by the stunning Spanish horses from Medieval Times at 12 noon
  • Meet the horses of Toronto Police Services Mounted Unit and tour their stable
  • Kids’ zone featuring face painters and a pony painting station with Breyer Stablemates models
  • Riding and driving demonstrations featuring the Canadian horse, Canada’s critically endangered national horse, as well as exotic Arabian horses, powerful Percheron workhorses in harness, and athletic endurance horses
  • Learn about the Pan Am disciplines of Show Jumping, Eventing and Dressage with special performances showcasing each discipline
  • Meet famous equestrians, including Pan Am Dressage medalists Lorraine Stubbs and Martina Pracht, as well as Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame jockey Sandy Hawley
  • See a farrier shoe a horse at the blacksmith station

Now in its seventh year, Horse Day is a national initiative that was started by the Ontario Equestrian Federation to introduce the public to horses in a safe, fun environment. For more information, click here.
