Lindsay Traisnel finished in 10th place at the CCI* FEI World Breeding Eventing Championships for Young Horses, six-year-old division, held in Le Lion D’ Angers, FRA, October 16–19, 2014.
Riding Ulysse de Rubercy (Arioso du Theillet SF x Oberon du Moulin), a six-year-old Selle Francais gelding owned by Manon and Christine Rozé, Traisnel of Tecumseh, Ont., was sitting in 10th place following dressage with a score of 48.80. The pair added only four jumping faults to their performance to finish the competition on a final score of 52.80.
“Ulysse was fantastic all week,” said Traisnel. “Other than a light rub in the show jumping, he didn’t really put a foot wrong from the moment he got there. It’s hard to have personal best performances in all three phases come together at one event, especially for such a young horse in that kind of atmosphere, but he really stepped up and gave me everything he had.”
“Le Lion is such a nice event with a beautiful cross country course and huge crowds, and I think Ulysse really proved that he is an exciting horse for the future among the best young event horses in the world. Thank you to the Rozé’s for giving me the ride on Ulysse, as well as my family, coach, friends and supporters,” added Traisnel.
