Spruce Meadows Harvest Classic Friday

With 12 horse/rider combinations clearing the first round of the 1.40 m Pason Cup the jump-off round brought out the best in each pair.

Tonight it was Tamie Phillips (CAN) and Lucas whose speed was unbeatable as they came around the jump-off course in 35.58 seconds. It was Calgary’s Kelly Koss and Carlos Don Benito who set an early time to beat of 36.16 seconds but that time was no match for the pace put down by Phillips.

With one win under their belt during the 2009 Spruce Meadows “Harvest Classic” Tournament, Phillips will look to continue the trend over the weekend with top competitions on both Saturday and Sunday.

The Harvest Classic Tournament continues in the Spruce Meadows Equi-Plex until Sunday. Parking and admission are complimentary for any public who wish to attend the indoor tournament.
