Two weeks of hunter, jumper, and equitation competition concluded Sunday at the Kentucky Horse Park for the Split Rock Jumping Tour’s (SRJT) Fall series, with the $100,000 CSI3* Grand Prix presented by Hagyard Equine Medical Institute. It was Zume Gallaher and her 11-year-old stallion, Ellouthago PS (Elvis Ter Putte x G’Wendelina), who topped the all-female podium.

The 16-effort first-round track, designed by Anderson Lima (BRA), saw only four clear combinations after a 35-horse and rider field. After a clean first round, Jonathan Corrigan and Tricolor MB led the way in the jump off, crossing the timers with 46.31 on the clock and an unlucky rail, leaving them on a score of 4. Last year’s Fall Classic CSI3* winners, Lacey Gilbertson and LouLou MPSZ, were next in the ring. Keeping the jumps up, they ended with a time of 46.63. The long-time partners Gabriela Reutter and Maharees Rock delivered a quicker round at 44.63, although with a clipped rail, they left with a 4-fault score. It was last but not least, Zume Gallaher and her partner of four years, Ellouthago PS, laying it down, crossing the timers at 42.61 with a no-fault score.

“Speechless,” Gallaher responds when asked about her stallion, Ellouthago PS, “I’ve had this horse for four years, and this has been a long time coming.” The Blue Gate Stables LLC’s stallion jumped consistently throughout the Split Rock Jumping Tour’s Fall Series, ultimately leading to the pair’s first CSI3* win together. “This is my first time in Kentucky, but not at a Split Rock show. I absolutely loved it. Split Rock always does a super job managing. I love the course designers they bring in, the venues are amazing, and everything always runs really smoothly. We love coming to Split Rock shows.”

The $35,000 C. Jarvis Insurance 1.45m Welcome CSI3* on Friday afternoon saw eight pairs clear in the first round out of a field of 45 horses. Celso Ariani and Facundo de la Nutria were first in the shortened course, coming in with a consistent clear at 42.45. Lacey Gilberston and her 9-year-old mare, Belle Amie VD Dassenheide Z, the next clear in the jump-off, came in with a blazing fast time of 40.56, leaving a seemingly small gap to overtake the lead. Wilton Porter and Sternmarke 3 rose to the challenge, racing to come in nearly a second faster than Gilberston at 39.66 seconds with another clear ride. Celso Ariani and his second ride, Jip van T&L Z, will ultimately round out the podium with a time of 40.76.

Porter has been consistently near the top of the leaderboard during the Split Rock fall series with his partners Sternmarke 3 (Stakkato x Enjoy) and Larderello (Arezzo VDL x Doreen van de Lingehoeve) owned by Sleepy P Ranch. Coming in 2nd in the $5,000 Dutta Corp CSI2* Speed during the Kentucky National CSI2* with his gelding, Sternmarke 3, and coming in fourth with his other ride, Larderello, in the $32,000 CSI3* Speed in the Fall Classic CSI3*, Porter has been knocking on the door all series.

Looking ahead, Split Rock Jumping Tour’s next stop will be the Santa Anita CSI3* and the Santa Anita CSI5*-W on November 12-16, and 19-23. Two weeks of world-class showjumping will hit the West Coast in collaboration with 1/ST and Santa Anita Park.
