If you will be competing at Silver, Gold or Platinum Hunter/Jumper, Dressage, Para Dressage or Eventing competitions in 2025, you will need to complete a Horse Recording directly through the Equestrian Canada website, as Temporary Horse Recordings (or Registrations, as they are known in the Rules) will no longer be available. To check if you need a horse recording to compete, please visit HERE.
This change ensures all horse owners will only need to pay once for registration, and that their payment goes toward an official EC Horse Recording, which allows for the tabulation of results, tracking performance record of the horse and compilation of breeder identification.
The process to register your horse with EC is easy and instant. All you need is a picture!
Please ensure all horses, owners and riders have the appropriate licenses and activations prior to entering any EC sanctioned events. Entries not meeting the sport licence or horse recording requirements are in breach of EC Rules, will not be eligible for points and may incur fines. All competition prize lists must clearly indicate the level of competition and all sport licence/horse recording requirements.
If you have any questions or want to check to see if you are ready to compete, please feel free to reach out to us at sportlicences@equestrian.ca.
