mar-3Woody had a dressage lesson with Bruce Davidson today. Bruce has been teaching Selena since she was nine and rode a big fat (amazing) Quarter Horse called Toby. He has helped her from she was pre-training through to four star. He knows Selena and her horses very well and that makes him a huge part of the team. Woody was a very good boy.

Thunderstruck had a flat school. His owner arrives back again tomorrow night and does her first beginner novice at Rocking Horse Winter 3 on Saturday and Sunday. So exciting!

The OTTBs had an easy day. King Brian (Derg Boru) is competing in the Intermediate tomorrow at RHW3. It is Selena’s first Intermediate on him and she is very much looking forward to it. King Brian ran through his dressage test today in preparation for his competition. This is a photo of Derg Boru at his Preliminary outing with Selena a few weeks ago.

Selena’s other ride at RHW3 this weekend is a brand new one. Selena spent some time teaching ‘Sovereign’ to jump last winter for his dressage riding owners. This year they asked her if she would like to take him to some competitions and see how he does. Selena is thrilled and she is hoping that Sovereign enjoys his first outing. He is doing the Novice Horse section on Saturday. So Friday, Saturday and Sunday are going to be busy, busy, busy for the team in Ocala. Tuesday is the Nations Cup show jumping then off to Redhills.

There is a great team this year at Chesterland who all look out for each other. When one person is away at an event, the other ‘boarders’ all pull together to look after any horses that have been left at home. This way everyone can get away without too much reshuffling.
