Today was all about me (in my mind anyway). I had a fall a long long time ago and I have had issues with my right knee most of my life. I just had my fourth surgery on it in December and today I got the go ahead to leave the house for the first time since December third…yayyyyyy. This means I can go visit the barn for a little walk around tomorrow, first time this year. I am very excited.

Selena is driving up from Florida in February. She has some teaching booked at this end and she will take the two OTTB babies back down with her. In a perfect world we would also send Solo, but it’s not a perfect world and it’s his turn to stay at home with me and hold the fort.

The video is Riley’s first ride – not bad after two days in the trailer and one day in the paddock.

Rather Boldly first day in Florida

Riley is down in Florida. We have very reluctantly decided he really must be sold. It is not going to be easy, we have had him all his life. His half sister ‘Mistress Quickly’ has also been sold and left us this week. I admit it…I bawled. She has gone to just the right people, but I still bawled.

This is going to be a busy year and it will be hard to get all the horses out to enough shows never mind anything else. Selena has the ride on an exciting new horse for the winter. He will be arriving next Monday and we will show you some photos and tell you all about him when he gets there.

Last night was Anne Marie’s birthday bash at the Horse and Hound in Ocala – a famous watering hole for equestrians in the area. A good time was had by all and they met up with Jacqueline Brooks (awesome awesome Canadian dressage rider and coach). That’s the fun thing about Ocala, there are horse people from all disciplines and they are all respectful of each other and supportive of each other. Whenever there is a free afternoon on a Sunday, everyone hot foots it over to HITS to watch the Grand Prix There is so much to do and so many things to watch and attend, it’s a feast of equestrian offerings.
