Following impressive placings at CHIO Aachen in July, German dressage rider Benjamin Werndl smashed his own personal best scores at the World Championships in Herning, Denmark riding Famoso OLD. He placed 6th in the Grand Prix and was a member of the bronze medal team effort, was 5th in the Special and capped off the Championships with 85.895% in the Grand Prix Freestyle to finish just off the podium in 4th. He currently sits 3rd in the World Cup standings and 14th in the World Rankings with Famosa OLD.

The 38-year-old business economist was interviewed in Aubenhausen, Bavaria, where he runs an equestrian establishment together with his sister, Olympic gold medallist Jessica von Bredow-Werndl.
