It has been announced that two riders received FEI yellow cards for dangerous riding during the cross country phase of the Eventing competition at the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™, on August 29th.

Canada’s Hawley Bennett-Awad was yellow-carded for continuing to ride Gin & Juice after three refusals. (Read Karen Robinson’s blog for details on their cross country ride.) Sweden’s Anna Hilton received her yellow card due to a fall that took place at the final water complex aboard Matrix.

Additionally New Zealand’s Tim Price and Ireland’s Aoife Clark were given verbal warnings. Price, aboard Wesko, was stopped on course by the ground jury for abuse of horse/riding a tired horse. Clark was reprimanded for dangerous/irresponsible riding aboard Fenyas Elegance.

As these were the first offences for all four riders, no further action will be taken. For more information on yellow cards, and a list of current cards and warnings, click here.
