The Tournament of Champions has been unable to effect a timely agreement, imperative for sponsorship and broadcast contracts, to hold the 2009 Tournament of Champions at the EMG (Equestrian Management Group) managed Caledon Equestrian Park.
In a letter issued yesterday, Tournament directors and management recognized and thanked sponsors (many of which supported the event from Day One), Grand Prix Club members, media partners, suppliers and volunteers. The letter also noted the record venue spectatorship, multi-event prime time television coverage and increased prize money that the show brought to the horse community as well as having raised over $700,000 for charity.
