Long-time supporter of the Canadian Eventing community and organizer of Checkmate Horse Trials in Feversham, Ontario, Russell Smith, has passed away after a brief battle with cancer.
The Smith family are holding a visitation from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Thursday November 18th. This will be held at Humphrey Funeral Home at 1403 Bayview Avenue in Toronto. There is parking on site.
The funeral will be at Trinity College Chapel at 2:00 pm 4:00pm on Friday the 19th of November. Trinity College Chapel is located at 6 Hoskin Avenue, also in Toronto.
Smith was honoured last year at the Canadian Eventing Hall of Fame Gala Dinner in Toronto after many years as an organizer, supporter and owner of many top level horses.
