It is with great sadness that Sam-Son Farm announces the death of Champion and Horse of the Year Quiet Resolve.

Quiet Rosolve suffered an irreparable injury while trying to stand following anaesthesia for colic surgery on Thursday February 1st at Guelph University in Canada.

A homebred for Sam-Son Farm by Affirmed and out of Quiet Cleo (No Louder), Quiet Resolve retired due to injury in 2002, with earning of $2,346,768.

Quiet Resolve earned Sovereign Awards in 2000 as Champion Turf horse and was named Canada’s Horse of the Year. In the same year, he narrowly missed winning the Breeders Cup Turf G1, finishing 2nd by 1.2 length.

“Quiet Resolve was a courageous race horse both on and off the track. He was a sentimental favourite of the farm and a horse who always gave you 110% effort in everything he did. He loved to race and to win and will be deeply missed. He was one of a kind!” Tammy Samuel-Balaz.

Quiet Resolve has been buried at Sam-Son Farm.
