To enhance the Olympic atmosphere in Hong Kong and to share the joy of the Olympic Games with the community, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will run Olympic Live Sites in Victoria Park and Sha Tin Park during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

The Olympic Live Sites will broadcast live all the exciting competition events through TV screens and stage a variety of cultural programmes for enjoyment by members of the public.

The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, will officiate at the Launching Ceremony of the Olympic Live Sites in Hong Kong at Victoria Park at 7:50pm on Friday, August 8. District organisations and members of the public invited by the Home Affairs Department will join the ceremony and watch the live-broadcast of the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

The two Live Sites will be formally opened to members of the public between August 9 and 24.
