After winning an individual bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Canadian Eric Lamaze has jumped to the fifth spot on the FEI Rankings list. Previously, he was ranked the 10th best show jumper in the world.
Teammate Tiffany Foster also climbed up the list and has cracked the all-important top 30, sitting in 24th, having risen from 32nd. Ranking among the top 30 in the world gives riders tremendous advantage such as not having to pay entry fees at some shows and getting invitations to lucrative competitions. Foster is now the fourth best female rider on the list, behind Penelope Leprevost (sixth), Edwina Tops-Alexander (12th) and Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum (17th).
Lamaze and Foster, along with Yann Candele and Amy Millar, finished just out of the medals at the Rio Games, taking fourth place in the team competition. Full results here.
