Kim Farlinger Stables, one of Canada’s top ‘A’ circuit show and sales barns operated by Kim Farlinger and Terri Brent, has relocated to an incredible show jumping facility ideally situated off Highway 9 between Orangeville and Palgrave, ON. The new location is a short eight-minute drive from the Caledon Pan Am Equestrian Park, host of equestrian competition for the 2015 Pan American Games.

The new home of Kim Farlinger Stables, which was recently built by owner Alan Chesler, features an outdoor grand prix jumping ring complete with natural obstacles; a large indoor arena with state-of-the-art footing and sprinkler system; a beautiful, modern barn; a hot walker; a round pen, and 13 grass paddocks for plenty of turn-out.

“You name it; it has everything you could possibly think of and would want in a farm,” said Brent, who has been in business with Farlinger for almost a decade. “I think this facility is on par with an Olympic training ground. It’s got everything you need to develop horses, from three-year-olds straight up to Olympic-level horses.”

As for their services, Brent explained, “They are going to be the same as what we currently offer, only at a much better and higher level because of our ability to work out of this unbelievable facility. We’ll have training of horses and riders, sales, clinics, and we’ll even do quarantines. And, of course, travel and support at competitions. Everything will be turn-key for show horses and riders in the hunter, jumper, and equitation industry.”

In addition to developing client horses, Brent and Farlinger manage grand prix horses as well as a string of talented young horses. This has allowed them to build a large and loyal base of sales clientele while also providing Farlinger with plenty of equine talent to showcase in competition throughout North America.

No stranger to the show ring, Farlinger, 29, began competing at a young age and experienced tremendous success, including winning the Individual Junior Gold Medal at the 2003 North American Junior and Young Riders’ Championship. Since making her grand prix debut in 2004, Farlinger has earned back-to-back Molson Canadian Three Star gold medals at the Spruce Meadows summer tournaments, was named the Leading Foreign Rider at the CSIO-W Rio de Janeiro in Brazil in 2006, and has been named to the Canadian Show Jumping Team Short List on three occasions (2005, 2006, and 2009).

Brent is also backed by an extensive and successful competition career, having shown up to the national open jumper level before concentrating fully on the development of riders and horses. Plus, her expansive knowledge and consummate horsemanship skills allow her to ensure top quality horse care.

“We get as much pleasure out of developing client horses and riders as we do developing our own horses,” said Brent. “We’ve been on the road in the United States a lot the past few years and have had great success with American riders, but we’re coming home to our roots with this new facility and are looking forward to spending more time in Canada.”

Brent continued, “With both the Caledon Pan Am Equestrian Park and Angelstone being so close, it will allow us to focus on the development of horses and riders in our area. Having top show facilities in our own backyard is going to give us a lot of leeway, as we will not always have to be away from home. Having experienced so much success with our program in the United States, we’re looking forward to working with local talent and offering our services in the Canadian hunter and jumper industry.”

With a new world-class facility to operate from, the sky is the limit for Kim Farlinger Stables.

“We’re really excited about where this move is going to take us,” said Brent. “We’ve been looking for that next step, the next big thing. What we are capable of doing now is doing exactly what we’ve been doing, but on a much bigger, broader spectrum. The future possibilities are endless!”
