We are living at a time of historic success for our Show Jumping Team. I’m sure that you shared in the collective sense of pride in August as Canadian equestrians stepped onto the Olympic Podium for Team Silver and Individual Gold medals. We write to you today to invite you to join us as we celebrate our Olympic Champions and the Legends that helped to pave the way for them…as part of our Jump Canada Hall of Fame Gala.
The first two Jump Canada Hall of Fame Galas were sold-out events that brought together the many stars, supporters and community of the equestrian world. This year, following our historical Olympic results, there is more to celebrate than ever.
The third annual Hall of Fame Gala and Induction Ceremony, presented by BMO Financial Group, will once again recognize outstanding contributions to Canadian hunter/jumper sport. We would like to invite you to attend the black-tie Gala Dinner and Induction ceremony beginning at 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2008, in the Concert Hall of the Royal York Hotel in Toronto.
This year’s inductees to the Jump Canada Hall of Fame will be:
Jumper – Monopoly
Rider – Shirley (Thomas) Prosser
Coach/Trainer – Tom Gayford
Sponsor – Rothmans of Pall Mall Canada
Builder (Individual) – Ron and Marg Southern
Hunter – Blue By You
Pony – Minnie Mouse
Close friends and associates will be on hand to present the Hall of Fame awards to the recipients, making for a very special evening recalling the sport’s greatest memories. In addition, special tribute will be paid to our Olympic Champions. We invite you to be a part of this intimate event!
Attached please find a ticket order form. Tickets for the Jump Canada Hall of Fame Gala are $200 per person and can be purchased individually or in tables of eight. Tickets will not be sold after October 31, 2007. For more information, please contact Jennifer Mahoney, Equine Canada, at tel: 613 248-3433 ext. 101, or e-mail jmahoney@equestrian.ca.
