Ottawa, Ontario — Jump Canada is pleased to announce the dates and criteria for the 2007 Jump Canada Series including a new $20,000 cash award, sponsored by Jump Canada, for the 2007 Series winner.

As the intention of the award is to support excellence and high performance development, the award must be invested by the rider into a development program which is intended to support future elite performance.  The program must be approved by the High Performance Committee.

Open to Canadian riders aboard Canadian-owned horses, the 2007 Jump Canada Series will consist of 24 Grand Prix and World Cup Qualifier classes with minimum prize money of $25,000 held across the country.

Riders earn points based on their class placings.  The top 20 horse/rider combinations in each class receive points, with the winner receiving 20 points, and the remaining 19 finishers receiving points in downward increments of one point (i.e 19 points for second place, 18 points for third place, etc.). Points are then multiplied by 10% of the number of entries, up to a maximum of 25 entries.

The final event in the 2007 Jump Canada Series is the CN World Cup Qualifier to be held November 7 at the CSI5* Royal Horse Show in Toronto, ON.  Following that competition, the horse/rider combination with the highest number of points will be named the winner of the 2007 Jump Canada Series.

To be eligible to compete in the Jump Canada Series, competitors must sign and complete the declaration form and return it to Equine Canada, along with the $50 Registration Fee, by May 11, 2007.  Late registration fees of $150 will be accepted if received by the Manager Jumping at Equine Canada by close of business on August 31, 2007.
