Ottawa, Ontario  — Equine Canada is pleased to announce that General Motors of Canada (GM), in partnership with the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) is offering grants through their ‘Making Dreams Possible’ initiative.

Each year, 100 grants of $2,000 each will be awarded to support community level sport organizations. In addition, each year until 2010, 10 grants of $10,000 will be awarded to coaches of high performance athletes. There will be two application deadlines annually, which for 2007 will be February 28 and September 30.

By offering grants to community level sport organizations, athletes, and their coaches, the ‘Making Dreams Possible’ Program will enhance the experience of young Canadian athletes by providing funding for training and development.

All athletes start competing at the local level, which makes it imperative for them to receive the best possible coaching at the earliest stage of their careers. GM, CAC and Equine Canada recognize that gold medal performances require first-rate coaching, making the goal of the ‘Making Dreams Possible’ program to provide coaching excellence as support for athletes at all levels.
