2008_CCI_rebecca_glynis_schultz_web_1_.JPGOttawa, ON—Glynis Schultz of Brentwood Bay, BC, led the Canadians competing at the CCI Three Day Event at Rebecca Farm, held July 22-26 in Kalispell, MT, USA.  This year, in addition to the HSBC FEI Eventing World Cup Qualifier division, the popular competition hosted CCI 2* and CCI 1* divisions and a CIC 1* horse trials division.

Schultz took fourth place in the CCI 2* division aboard Irish, her own 11-year-old Connemara Thoroughbred cross gelding. Standing in fourth place after dressage on a score of 54.3 penalty points, the pair performed a polished cross country performance which added no faults to their score. Despite one rail down for four faults in the show jumping test, the pair held their fourth place finishing on a final score of 58.3 pp.

“Irish keeps rising to the occasion. It was very hot and I was worried that the heat would affect him, but he was great in all three phases,” said Schultz, who purchased Irish three years ago on the advice of her friend Vicki Davies. “He is so fun to work with. I think we will try some advanced horse trials in the fall.”
