Emirate Leaks has reported that HRH Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, former FEI president, has fled the United Arab Emirates for Germany.
Princess Haya is married to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
It is reported that she travelled secretly to Germany, with the help of a German diplomat, with her son and daughter, where she requested asylum from the German authorities and a divorce.
Sources say that Mohammed bin Rashid and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed requested the immediate return of Princess Haya and the children, but that officials in Berlin refused. As such, Mohammed bin Rashid is said to be furious and now undeclared conflict exist between the UAE and Germany.
Princess Haya is the daughter of Jordanian King Hussein Bin Talal and Queen Alia and sister of King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein.
The news outlet noted a similar incident that occurred when one of the daughters of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Sheikha Lutfiya ran away after declaring she has been imprisoned for three years and subjected to cruel and inhuman treatment. In this case, UAE authorities returned Sheikha Latifa by force and put her under house arrest, where she was sedated for acting hysterical.
