The Final of the Global Champions Tour CSI-5* Sao Paulo (BRA), which was due to take place from 8 to 12 October will be postponed by one week. The event´s new dates are 15 to 19 October.

The reason for this alteration to the FEI calendar is to allow sufficient time for the horses to travel to this event following a meeting scheduled by the European authorities on 2 October to decide on the re-entry of horses into Europe due to the current equine health situation in Brazil.

The Brazilian authorities together with the organising committee have taken every precaution to ensure that the welfare and health of horses travelling to Brazil is safeguarded.

Upon arrival at the events horses will be stabled in a specially created quarantine area strictly controlled by government authorities and will not come into contact with local horses at any stage during their stay in Brazil.

Given the importance this event holds for the horse sport and the significant financial implications for all parties involved, the FEI and the organisations involved have actively sought the support of the relevant European authorities in order to sort out details relating to the re-importation of horses to Europe.
