Equine Canada is pleased to announce the winners for the 2015 Horse Day Drawing Contest.
The drawing contest, which was held in conjunction with the seventh annual national Horse Day on June 6, 2015, was open to entrants in four different age categories-3-6, 7-9, 10-12, and 13-16. There were a number of superb entries, making the judging no easy task.
The winners of the Horse Day Drawing Contest are as follows:
Age Category / Winner / Province
3-6 / Olivia Wilson / British Columbia
7-9 / Raphaël Côté / Quebec
10-12 / Cassie Simpson / Nova Scotia
13-16 / Milla Nadeau / Alberta
All contestants who submitted a drawing were also entered into a random draw for a pair of tickets to the sold out Pan Am Equestrian event of the winner’s choice-dressage, eventing or show jumping-marking the contest’s most coveted prize to date. Ontario’s Nadya Bissett will be watching show jumping at the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games, which is taking place July 10-26 in Toronto, ON.
The drawing contest guidelines required entrants to draw their art by hand and include at least one horse in the submission. The works of art were then judged based on the criteria of beauty, arrangement of colours, originality and implied effort by the contestant. All drawings are posted online in the Horse Day section of the Equine Canada website.
Thank you to all the participants for submitting wonderful entries and contributing to a successful Horse Day 2015.
