The future celebrities of equestrian sport have descended upon Creekside Farm in Calgary, Alberta for the inaugural Canadian Sport Horse Association (CSHA) Select Sale, to be held September 10th, 2012. Showcasing the world’s best bloodlines, the CHSA Select Sale features 13 expert selected, sport-horse prospects and one very special donkey.
Described as “the haute couture event of breeding,” each of the featured horses at this fashion-show inspired auction was hand picked by a committee of widely respected industry experts. “The quality is exceptional,” says renowned horseman and Selection Committee member Bob Henselwood. “There are individuals here that are every bit as good as any horse you could find in a European auction for young horses.”
Ranging from three to eight years of age, Select Sale horses were chosen for their exceptional bloodlines and competitive suitability in the sport disciplines of hunter, jumper, dressage, or eventing. This “designer” collection will stomp the auction catwalk on September 10th.
CSHA Select Sale Highlights
“Celebrity” Bloodlines. With international “A list” sires—Cornet Obolensky, Ikoon, Escudo, Comic Hilltop, Portland L, VDL Arctic, Carthago Sun I, Calimero, Calvados, Cruising, Corland, Good Times, and more—CSHA Select Sale horses represent a veritable who’s who in modern breeding. Conveniently assembled at Alberta’s picturesque Creekside Farm, all 13 horses are available for viewing and try outs the entire week leading up to the live auction. The little donkey with big potential
‘Angus’ is a show quality Miniature Donkey with big potential. The Circle C-bred chocolategelding was generously donated to the CSHA Select Sale by National Bank Financial Edmonton. All proceeds from the sale of Angus will benefit Calgary’s Cerebral Palsy Association and its’ Adaptive Bike Clinic, providing customized bikes to special needs children. Spruce Meadows Masters’ Breeds of the World
With over $2 million in prize money, the prestigious Spruce Meadows’ Masters Tournament is one of the richest events in show jumping and attracts the world’s best horses and riders.
