Friends and supporters of the cancelled Tournament of Champions have worked together with Equestrian Management Group and former members of the cancelled show’s committee to a create a new show, Canadian show Jumping Tournament CSI**-W.

Under the new organizing committee, the show has already applied and received confirmation to host an event. The new event will take place at the Caledon Equestrian Park September 23rd through September 27th, 2009. It will have all of the many features that of the previous event that the audience has grown accustomed to. The main focus will remain on Grand Prix Show Jumping encompassing an entertainment package that will benefit National and Local Charities and the surrounding communities. Show management feels strongly that along with their partners, this shows great tradition can and should continue.

The new show has secured Mac McQuaker as the event coordinator, a job he has done for the past many years. In addition, management is delighted to welcome Linda Pabst and Deb Firestone as co-chairs of the volunteer charity committee. With these experienced and dedicated people, show management is confident that it will exceed the expectations of all parties.

The cancellation of Tournament of Champions was an unexpected turn of events and now management of the Canadian Show Jumping Tournament is reaching out to the many friends, sponsors, patrons, volunteers and competitors who are prepared to help with this extremely worthwhile cause. Progress is being made and over the next few weeks charities that will benefit from the event will be named. Negotiations with major sponsors are underway along with preliminary discussions with television producers.
