Hong Kong – Canadian show jumping horses arrived safely in Hong Kong early Monday local time. Hong Kong is the site of the equestrian events of the Beijing Olympics.

The Canadian team mounts In Style (Ian Millar); Hickstead (Eric Lamaze); Special Ed (Jill Henselwood); Ole (Mac Cone) and Rayana Chiara (alternate Jonathan Asselin) flew from New York to Hong Kong with a refuelling stop in Anchorage, making it an 18 hour trip. They travelled to New York by truck, after a seven-day quarantine north of Toronto, and had a short rest in a quarantine facility in New York.

Their riders are travelling individually on different days in the next week.

Show jumping competitions begin on Friday August 15th with the first qualifier for the individual competition. Team medals will be awarded on the 18th and individual medals on the 21st.
