Bromont International Driving to Celebrate 10 Year Anniversary

The Bromont International Driving is planning its 10th anniversary at the Bromont Equestrian Olympic Park. On the program: the best Canadian and American drivers performing on an outstanding site.

Last year, the Bromont International Driving set a record by hosting 8 four-horse driving teams, including elite driver Chester Weber. On the heels of this success, the organization is confident in preparation for its 10th edition.

For its 10th anniversary, Bromont is celebrating with top-notch officials. One of the most requested judges, Marsoe Larose, who arbitrated at the 2010 Driving World Championships in Italy, will join the officiating team, while the International Driving is happy to welcome back course designer Gunnar Larsson, whose 2007 course was appreciated by the competitors.

Bromont’s rugged site is “The ideal venue for Marathon events”, according to Roger Deslauriers, the show Director. With natural obstacles such as the mountain, and artificial ones such as the bridge, the Bromont International Driving allows the competitors to display all their talents. “We are expecting a very nice competition, especially following last year’s. We are confident that the drivers will be excited coming back to Bromont, particularly because the site was under construction last June, and now offers new amenities providing a more comfortable experience for the participants”, adds Mr. Deslauriers. “Registration started slowly until now, but we do not expect all drivers to confirm their intention before the beginning of June, as always”, contends Sophie Chagnon, Operations Manager of the Bromont Equestrian Olympic Park. Organizers of the International Driving expect even more visitors this year and Sophie Chagnon concludes: “Driving is a sport gaining in popularity and the number of visitors increases each year, which is very encouraging”. The Bromont International Driving, the most important competition in Canada and the second in North America, is a “FEI / CAI-A” classified event, which means that the points are recognized for world rankings. Every year, the participants and their horses come for a skill challenge competition on the picturesque site of the Bromont Equestrian Olympic Park.
