The pleasure driving community is saddened by the death of Dick Rockwell of Ardmore Farms, Kettleby, ON. Rockwell and his late wife Adele were well-known for many years in the Welsh and driving world, breeders of champions, and great contributors to our equine world. He was one of the original directors of C.O.P.D.A., and served for many years on our board. He has been an honorary director for some time when ill health precluded active involvement for the club.
Peacefully, surrounded by his family, on the family farm on Sunday morning, November 5, 2006, in his 91st year. He will be missed by his dear sister-in-law Ellean, loving uncle of Marianne, Jock, Christopher, Tim and Char.
He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his great-nieces and nephews. Dick will also be missed by his farm and all his ponies. Friends may call at the Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South (northeast corner of Yonge and Industrial Parkway South), Aurora, 905-727-5421 on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Thursday at 1 p.m.
