Frankie Chesler-Ortiz and husband Juan Ortiz welcomed their first son on July 12th. Juaquin Chesler Ortiz was born at Toronto’s Mount Sinai, two months premature following a high-risk pregnancy.
At just 4 lbs, baby Juaquin was placed in neonatal intensive following the delivery, where he remains in good condition and is expected to go home to Orangeville at the of August. Chesler Ortiz has been by her newborn’s side, staying in the hospital to be bond with and to nurse him.
Proud grandparents, Alan and Sherry Chesler, and new aunt Mikala are thrilled with Juaquin’s arrival and describe him as a perfectly adorable little guy with a thick head of black hair, who is growing well.
Back at home, daddy Juan continues to fulfill training and course designing commitments, while Alan Chesler has stepped in to help train clients.
The timing for this pregnancy was based on the sale of Chesler Ortiz’ Olympic prospect, Picolien Zeldenrust, last summer. With four more years to go until the London Olympics, the Canadian Show Jumping Team and Venezuelan Show Jumping Team members decided now would be a good window to have the baby.
