The first week of the Coachella Desert Circuit came to a close with the grand finale of the show on Sunday, the $75,000 Back on Track Grand Prix. Spectators gathered in the audience to witness who would master the event. An audience of thousands of viewers across the country also tuned into a live stream via ShowNet, sponsored by Morning Star Sporthorses, LLC.

Course Designer Martin Otto of Germany set a challenging course for the field of Grand Prix veterans. The order of go was stacked with talent including the likes of Will Simpson and Richard Spooner, who won the $25,000 SmartPak Grand Prix earlier in the week.

The team to beat would prove to be John Anderson of Calgary, Alberta aboard Terrific, garnering the glo-ry with the only clear round in the five-horse jump-off. Anderson and Terrific were first in the order and laid down a trip that with withstand the entire jump-off, powering through the course clocking in at 43.374 with all of the rails up for the eventual victory.
