Ottawa, ON— Karen Cudmore originally of Victoria, BC, and now based in Omaha, NE, will be Canada’s representative at the 2010 The Rolex FEI World Cup™ Final in Geneva, SWI, from April 15–18, 2010.

After the final North American World Cup League qualifying event was held in Tampa, FL, on April 4, 2010, Cudmore finished as the top Canadian rider in the North American World Cup East Coast League standings with a total of 81 points to secure her invitation to the 2010 World Cup Final.  She will make her World Cup Final debut riding Southern Pride, a 12-year-old Holsteiner stallion owned by her husband, Blair Cudmore.

Cudmore’s best finish of the season came in the $50,000 Orange County Register Grand Prix at CSIW Blenheim Spring Tournament, held in San Juan Capistrano, CA, where she finished second for a total of 19 World Cup points riding Ceonto, a nine-year-old grey Holsteiner gelding owned by Blair Cudmore.  Riding Ulano, a nine-year-old Dutch Warmblood stallion, Cudmore finished third in the $50,000 Purina Mills Grand Prix World Cup qualifying event at CSI2*-W Desert Circuit IV, Thermal, CA, for an additional 15 points.  With Southern Pride, Cudmore earned an additional 13 points with her fifth place finish in the $100,000 World Cup Qualifier at the Canadian Show Jumping Tournament in Palgrave, ON.

The Rolex FEI World Cup™ Final will be held at the 49th Geneva International Horse Show in Geneva, SUI.  The World Cup Final opens with a speed class on Thursday, April 15.  The riders will carry their scores forward to Friday’s competition, which will be Table A with a timed jump off.  The top two-thirds of the competitors move forward to Sunday’s two-round Final, where the 2010 Rolex FEI World Cup™ Final champion will be crowned.
