Fresh off a double silver medal win at the Olympic Games, Dutch show jumper Gerco Schröder’s mount, London, has been seized as the result of bankruptcy proceedings.
Until recently, the stallion was owned by the Dutch real estate and construction company Eurocommerce, owned by Guy Visser. Earlier this year, London, along with several other Eurocommerce horses, was sold to Gevi International B.V., a company owned by Ger Visser Jr. At the end of last week, the FEI database was altered to reflect another change in ownership for London as well as the horses New Orleans and Callahan. The new owner is listed as Sileste B.V.
Officials seized the horses to prevent their sale while they investigate the transfer between companies and sort out whether they should be included as assets of Eurocommerce, which filed for bankruptcy in July.
Schröder rode London to Individual silver in a jump-off against Ireland’s Cian O’Connor on August 8th, after helping to secure the Team silver for Holland on August 6th.
